🎬 Session 4: From Ideas to Action

This week, our young filmmakers took an exciting step towards bringing their stories to life by exploring the three key stages of filmmaking:

🎬 Pre-production – Planning the film
🎥 Production – Capturing the story
✂️ Post-production – Shaping the final film

Our focus this session was pre-production—the stage where great films are truly made.

The group began the important task of casting, carefully choosing actors for each role and discussing how the right performance can bring a character to life. It was fantastic to see participants thinking beyond friendships and considering who best suited each part.

Next came location scouting. Armed with their scripts and imaginations, each production team searched the local area for locations that could transform ordinary spaces into cinematic worlds.

One of the biggest successes of the day was discovering the perfect exterior location for our spaceship. It was a brilliant reminder that filmmaking isn’t about having expensive sets—it’s about seeing potential in everyday places.

With the cast selected and locations secured, the teams also began preparing the props, costumes and set dressing that will help make their stories feel believable on screen.

The excitement is building as the project moves from planning to production. Every decision made this week has laid the foundations for filming, and the young people are beginning to understand that the work behind the scenes is just as important as the moments captured on camera.

Next session… the cameras roll.

🎬 Session 4 complete. Great films are built long before someone shouts, “Action!”
