🎬 Week 6 of 7 – Telling Stories That Matter (we added an extra week!!!)

As we enter the penultimate week of our 7-week FilmWorks Trust workshop, our young filmmakers have stepped into the world of documentary filmmaking.

This week, they worked alongside Chef Zoe, documenting the children as they prepared and cooked together in the kitchen. Through interviews, observational filming, and thoughtful storytelling, they captured more than just a cooking session—they captured confidence, teamwork, creativity, and the joy of learning together.

Documentary filmmaking teaches us to slow down, observe, and find meaning in everyday moments. Our young filmmakers are developing not only their technical skills behind the camera but also the empathy and curiosity that make great storytellers.

It’s been inspiring to watch their confidence grow week by week as they transform from students into filmmakers with a genuine voice.

With just one week to go, we’re excited to see their documentary come to life and celebrate everything they’ve achieved throughout this incredible journey.

A huge thank you to Chef Zoe for sharing her passion and creating such a wonderful experience for our young people, and to BBC Children in Need for making opportunities like this possible.

🎥 One week left. One final chapter. Countless stories waiting to be told.

🎥 Week 4 of 6 complete. Every great story starts by listening.

“I was nervous to interview someone at first, but once we started talking, it felt really natural. It was amazing hearing people’s different opinions and stories.”
