A lively group of young people gather around outdoor tables, fully immersed in their first filmmaking workshop. Facilitators guide discussions while participants collaborate, share ideas, and begin exploring the foundations of storytelling. The atmosphere is energetic and curious, with young people working together, asking questions, and building confidence as they take their first steps into the world of film and media production. The session focused on creativity, teamwork, and developing the skills needed to turn ideas into stories for the screen.

🎬 Future filmmakers in the making!

This week, 20+ young people from Churchill Gardens took part in the first session of the FilmWorks Trust Creative Media Programme, proudly supported by BBC Children in Need.

Participants explored storytelling, filmmaking fundamentals, and storyboarding as they began developing the skills to tell their own stories through film.

This is just the beginning of an exciting 6-week journey of creativity, confidence-building, and youth-led storytelling.

“Before this workshop, I never really thought about how films were made. Now I’ve learned how to tell a story using just six shots, and I can’t wait to make more films.”
