🎬 Week 3 of 6: Bringing Stories to Life Through Editing

This week, our young filmmakers continued their creative journey in the FilmWorks Trust 6-Week Workshop, proudly supported by BBC Children in Need.

Participants explored the art of editing and visual storytelling, learning how filmmakers use sequencing, pacing, and shot selection to shape a story and engage an audience. Working in their production teams, they reviewed footage from their 6-shot films and discovered how editing can completely transform the way a story is told.

The group also revisited their storyboards, refining their ideas and learning how careful planning helps filmmakers create stronger, more compelling narratives on screen.

It has been fantastic to watch their confidence, creativity, and technical skills grow week by week as they develop from aspiring storytellers into emerging filmmakers.
